Everything is Something: A Trace Monotype/Drawing Workshop | Thurs. Sept. 18 | 6:30 to 9:30 PM

$20.00

This workshop is designed to get you drawing, making images, prints, marks on paper — just producing a lot of work without any judgments using the trace monotype medium and Print Room’s proprietary (analog) Random Drawing Prompt Generator .

“Everything is Something” will be our guiding principle: drawing and making monotypes as a way of generating ideas, without judgments, just producing a lot of images — nothing gets thrown out, any image can be reworked, transformed, repurposed, or just draw something new on top. At the end, we’ll hang them all on the wall and have a pop-up show!

Trace monotypes are a fun way to combine drawing and printmaking, with unique and unexpected results. The technique is pretty simple—one draws on the back of a paper placed over a wet, inked plate, creating a kind of drawn print—but it offers many creative possibilities. Artists such as Paul Gauguin, Paul Klee, and Seymour Chwast have produced great works in this medium.

No prior printmaking experience is required for this workshop, and all materials are provided!
